About Us

MyNextJob.xyz is a platform dedicated to helping job seekers find their next career opportunity. I am a data engineer by training with a penchant to try and build things, so I built this project to scratch my own itch of not being able to find quality jobs in Japan without bypassing recruiters and job aggregators like LinkedIn, Indeed.

My mission is to bridge the gap between international talent and Japanese companies, making it easier for both parties to connect and thrive in this job market. My aim is to provide a user-friendly interface to search and filter through these opportunities.

Note: I understand that the translation quality is poor (thanks open-source), and the UX can be improved. I am originally a data engineer trying my hand at web development for the first time. If you are good with web development, please consider contributing to this project.

How to Contribute

We welcome contributions from the community to help improve MyNextJob.xyz. Here are some ways you can contribute:

Bug Reports and Feature Requests

We strive to make MyNextJob.xyz as useful and bug-free as possible. Your feedback is crucial in achieving this goal. Please report any bugs or feature requests here.

How it Works

I use a combination of web scraping, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract job listings from company websites. I then use machine learning to augment this data. GPT API helps me a lot! You can find details about the flow - here

I am not a web developer by training, so the website is not very good looking. If you are good with web development, please consider contributing to this project.

FAQ

MyNextJob.xyz is a platform dedicated to helping job seekers find career opportunities in Japan directly from companies, bypassing recruiters and job aggregators like LinkedIn and Indeed. It's built by an indie developer to address the challenge of finding quality local jobs in Japan.

The platform uses a combination of web scraping, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract job listings from company websites. Machine learning is then used to augment this data, with significant help from GPT API. You can find more details about the process here.

We welcome contributions, especially from those with web development skills. You can contribute by submitting feature requests or bug reports, helping with translations, or improving the website's design and functionality.

The creator is primarily a data engineer, not a web developer. The focus has been on functionality rather than design. If you have web development skills and would like to help improve the site's appearance and user experience, please consider contributing to the project.

The data on the website is owned by the companies that post the jobs. We do not own the data. In fact, we are helping them promote their jobs by promoting their jobs and brands in English and directing job seekers to their careers page.
